A Whole New World of Birds
Sally Roth,
Evansville Courier columnist, lifelong naturalist and
gardener, will present “A Whole New World of Birds” on
Friday, April 30, 7:00 PM, at Ivy Tech Community
College, 3501 N. First Av., Vectren Auditorium. Free.
Some of her books will be available for purchase and
signing following her presentation. There will also be
a reception in her honor.
The bird scene is
changing dramatically across the country and right here
at home, thanks to the combined impact of habitat
destruction, pesticides, and climate change. Sally will
take a look at why hundreds of species are in decline,
and the ways in which many species are changing their
habits to adapt. From catbirds, wrens, and wood
warblers at the feeder to earlier hummingbird migration
and shifting ranges, it’s a whole new world for
birds--and for us. Find out what we bird lovers (46
million, at last count) can do to help our American
birds. Learn the simple changes we can make at our
feeders, in our yards, and in our own lives to help
birds thrive.
